Ice Rally Driving

The karts are equipped with full studded tyres that give them great grip on the ice, but carry your speed into the corners……see how you can power slide them all the way around the corners. This activity gives you a great introduction to the art of racing on ice.

The Location

The Ice Rally Driving and Ice Karting Grand Prix take place on a frozen lake

located in the wilderness of N Loten, which is almost on the border of Norway.

The area is 900 metres above sea level and experiences temperatures of

minus 8 to minus 20 during January to March. The lake itself measures approximately 10 x 1 Kilometres and has ice 1 metre thick, providing excellent ice rallying conditions. The snowmobile trek ventures into the surrounding mountain and forest area.

The Activities

Ice Rally Driving in Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution

Over the past few years the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution has been developed into a world championship winner competing against other rally super-cars. In national rallying the group N version has won on numerous occasions and on all surfaces. This is your chance to try this thoroughbred on our ice stages and see if you have the skill to get the best out of this fantastic rally car. The cars are fitted with special studded tyres which give the car tremendous grip on corners and under braking making this an experience to remember.

Copse Paddock Terrace Restaurant

Our Superbly located hospitality facilities are situated “trackside” in an elevated position on the inside of Copse Corner, which is often incident packed being the first following the start of the race.

This is now the only hospitality complex close to the start of the race.

Each winter Extreme Rally goes continental and gets even more extreme as we head for the frozen terrain of Sweden in our search for the ultimate driving experience.

Our Winter Rally Event is unique and you and your friends and family can try your hand at driving our Hyundai Coupes or Mitsubishi Evo 6’s fitted with special studded tyres. Have fun ice karting and see the Swedish forests on a Snowmobile trek.

Hotels

We offer a choice of 3 hotels for you to make your selection from. Nyhammers Herrgard and Morhagen Hotel are located in Grand Garde close to the ice rally stages.

The area is very rural with no other form of evening entertainment. Taxis are available to Ludvika, which is the nearest town offering a selection of bars, restaurants and cafes. The journey time is approximately 30 minutes.

The Grand Electra Hotel is located in Ludvika. We provide transfers to and from the lake and transfer time is 30 minutes.

The lakes have fully prepared stages that include full hairpin bends, fast straights, and flowing corners to put into practice your newly acquired power slide skills developed on the ice kart circuit!

There are also several practice areas such as figure 8’s and ovals on which to practice braking and lift off over steer techniques. Furthermore we have access to frozen forest stages, which are awesome to drive!

Option 1 – Ice Rally Challenge in Hyundai Coupes

Using our Hyundai Coupes which were specially built for the Hyundai World Rally Team as practice and recce’ cars for the World Championship Drivers to use. These 2 litre 16 valve Coupes have all the modifications you would expect with up-rated engines and professional Proflex Suspension. They are finished to a high standard and are perfect for teaching front wheel drive rally driving techniques.

A full day in the Hyundai Coupe offers the participant time to master the techniques and allows the driver to build on theses skills, providing the opportunity to progress to more advanced rallying skills in the afternoon

The course comprises of 3 driving sessions in the morning and after lunch at our farm, 3 more driving sessions in the afternoon followed by a high-speed passenger ride on the lake or frozen forest stages………Instructors Revenge!!

Option 2-Extreme Ice Rally Challenge in Hyundai Coupe and Mitsubishi Evo 6

The competition Group N Mitsubishi Evo 6 is a real head-turner; if you are lucky enough to catch a glimpse, as this rally thoroughbred is capable of 0-60 in just 4.5 seconds, and four wheel drive means this car is built to take anything the courses can throw at it.

The ultimate rally experience gives participants the opportunity to experience both front and 4 wheel drive rally cars. The morning is spent learning basic rally skills and techniques in a Hyundai Coupe, teaching the basics on how to drive the car through a special frozen stage and master techniques such as hand brake turns.

In the afternoon drivers graduate to the Mitsubishi Evo 6 to develop the necessary skills to get the best out of this remarkable car and benefiting from the skills developed in the morning sessions.

The course comprises of 3 driving sessions in the morning in one of our Hyundai Coupes and after lunch at our farm, 3 more driving sessions in the Mitsubishi Evo 6 followed by a high speed passenger ride on the lake or frozen forest stages…….Instructors Revenge!!

Snow Mobile Forest Trekking – Optional

Try your hand at driving a snow mobile on the specially prepared tracks through the Swedish forests. Imagine driving a motorised skidoo across deep snow, along a frozen river, or through the trees on fully marked and prepared routes.
